A temperate, adaptable moss found across North America and Europe. Classified as acrocarpous moss. Acrocarpus means it grows tight and compact. These majestic clumps love to grow in coniferous and deciduous forests, peat bogs, grassy meadows, woodlands and wetlands, as well as other moist rich environments, characterized by its cushion-like, dome-shaped growth habit. It forms dense clusters of green to ashy-gray leaves.
